SRZ: And finally, after three consecutive podium, you achieved the first win on SimRacingZone.net. How was your race here in Spa-Francorchamps? How do you feel after the first one-two of the team in this season?

D.K.: "Yes, finally! I'm really happy about it! My race went perfectly because our race pace was really strong. The crucial part was the first lap where I could overtake Michele due to his mistake and then luckily Eros also got out of DRS range from Bigazzi. It would have been almost impossible to overtake those two guys in a DRS train, but luckily I just had to take them one by one. After Francesco pitted on lap 11, it was clear that he was on a different strategy (2 stops), so I didn't even have to force getting closer to him after my pit stop, I just had to wait for him to pit because I knew that he wouldn't gain enough time on me after his 2nd pit stop. I am really glad and proud that we are the first team to achive a 1-2 this season! Hopefully this wasn't the last one for us. I would also like to thank Riccardo for his help in the last 2 days."

SRZ: In qualify you made a small mistake in sector 3, and had to start from the second row. Your race pace was amazing, and you chose a one stop strategy. How could you manage the tires for so many laps? Moreover, did you expect Musto Racing to have so many difficulties in Q2 too?

D.K.: "I wouldn't really say that it was a mistake, Pescara's car was just better in qualyfing than ours. I was running with higher downforce so I expected to lose a bit of time in S3. Yes, I do feel that our race pace was really great and I think it's not arrogant to say that we could have won with a two stopper as well. There's not really a secret for our one stopper, it's just about driving carefully without overpushing the tires, the higher downforce also helped a bit. Well, David was struggling on this track during testing, Marco as usual had really good pace, but as I said before, I think Pescara had a better car for qualy than us, so looking at the times, it didn't really surprise me that we were not in the 1st row. I was very close to my PB time at the end of Q2, I couldn't have got any further, honestly."

SRZ: You and Twister2Fast4You have now an important advantage on both standigs, but we are only at half season. What do you expect for Silverstone? Which would be your reaction about a wet race?

D.K.: "It's nice to lead both championships, but we are only half way through the season and a bad race could change everything, so we have to keep our performance up... David and Marco again had horrible luck which helped us and we capitalized on their bad luck perfectly. I expect a close race for Silverstone, hopefully I can continue my streak on podium finishes. Although I like the track, I have had bad luck and performances there in FSR in the past, it needs to change this time. I'm not against raining, we also tested a few laps in rainy conditions at Spa, too. It's exciting, but I may not need that excitement as the championship leader. "

SRZ: You and your team mate are going on in your fantastic season. In particular, your performances are growing race after race, and now you achieved the second podium in a row. While your opponents seem to have more difficulties, compared to the start of the season, you are still improving. Tell us about your race and what is your explanation about this great moment of Twister2Fast4You.

M.P.: "Well, yet again I struggled in qualifying, which needs to be fixed as this is practically the one major issue for me this season, which has prevented me to put a proper fight for a victory so far. As for the race, I got fortunate to avoid an accident in front of me, and I was clinical enough to pass D’Alessandro, Mascuilli and was about to pass Bigazzi before he pitted. Once we saw Bigazzi pit we knew that our pace should be enough to keep a one two, probably regardless of the strategy. The last stint we were keeping status quo to minimise risk, but near the end I lost concentration, locked up into T1 and ruined my tyres, which made the last two laps slightly worrying. As for the results for both Dani and I, I believe it’s partly fortune to keep out of trouble and away from incidents, which Marco especially has had bad luck with, but also we have understood the car a bit better in part thanks to Riccardo, practicing has gone more smoothly, which always helps us close the gap. But still we aren’t setting the fastest times in any session so there is still work to do."

SRZ: It's now time for your home race, but it's only in one week. Do you think to be able to fight for the victory? What can you tell us about the weather there?

M.P.: "It would be nice, not because it’s Silverstone but just to win a race finally in SRZ to close the gap in the championship. However, the most important for both Dani and I would be to get another double top five results, to keep the momentum that we built up from the last few races and strengthen or limit any loss in either championship. As for the weather, I’d recommend bringing an umbrella with you for the week!"

In quel caso penso potremo fare bene. Vedremo."
